1. An overview of data protection

General

The following gives a simple overview of what happens to your personal information when you visit our website. Personal information is any data with which you could be personally identified. Detailed information on the subject of data protection can be found in our privacy policy found below.

Data collection on our website

Who is responsible for the data collection on this website?

The data collected on this website are processed by the website operator. The operator's contact details can be found in the website's required legal notice.

How do we collect your data?

Some data are collected when you provide it to us. This could, for example, be data you enter on a contact form.

Other data are collected automatically by our IT systems when you visit the website. These data are primarily technical data such as the browser and operating system you are using or when you accessed the page. These data are collected automatically as soon as you enter our website.

What do we use your data for?

Part of the data is collected to ensure the proper functioning of the website. Other data can be used to analyze how visitors use the site.

What rights do you have regarding your data?

You always have the right to request information about your stored data, its origin, its recipients, and the purpose of its collection at no charge. You also have the right to request that it be corrected, blocked, or deleted. You can contact us at any time using the address given in the legal notice if you have further questions about the issue of privacy and data protection. You may also, of course, file a complaint with the competent regulatory authorities.

Analytics and third-party tools

When visiting our website, statistical analyses may be made of your surfing behavior. This happens primarily using cookies and analytics. The analysis of your surfing behavior is usually anonymous, i.e. we will not be able to identify you from this data. You can object to this analysis or prevent it by not using certain tools. Detailed information can be found in the following privacy policy.

You can object to this analysis. We will inform you below about how to exercise your options in this regard.

Online social media presence

We maintain online presences on social networks and platforms in order to communicate with active customers, interested parties as well as users and to inform them about our services.

We would like to point out that this might cause user data to be processed outside of the European Union, which can pose risks for users because this might, for example, hinder the enforcement of users' rights. With regard to US providers certified under the Privacy Shield, we would like to point out that these have committed to comply with EU data protection standards.

Furthermore, user data are generally processed for market research and advertising purposes. Thus, for example, user usage profiles can be created from the user behaviour and the associated user interests. Usage profiles can in turn be used, for example, to display advertisements that presumably correspond to the interests of the users both within platforms and external to them. For these purposes, cookies are usually stored on the user's computer, which stores user's usage behaviour and interests. Furthermore, data can also be stored in user profiles separate from the devices used by the users (especially if the users are members of the respective platforms and are logged in).

The processing of users' personal data is carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests to effectively offer users information and communicate with users pursuant to Art. 6, para. (1), letter (f) of the GDPR. If users are asked by the respective providers for consent to data processing (i.e. give their consent, e.g. by ticking a box or clicking a button), the legal basis of the processing is Art.
6, para. (1), letter (a) and Art. 7 of the GDPR.

For a detailed description of the respective processing and the possibilities of objection (opt-out), we refer to the information provided by the provider links below.

We would like to point out that requests for information and the assertion of user rights are also directed most effectively to the providers. Only the providers have access to the user data and can directly take appropriate measures as well as provide information. If you still need further assistance, you can contact us.

Your data will not be disclosed to third parties for advertising purposes without your express consent.

The basis for data processing is Art. 6 (1) (b) DSGVO, which allows the processing of data to fulfill a contract or for measures preliminary to a contract.

4. Analytics and advertising

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service. It is operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies". These are text files that are stored on your computer and that allow an analysis of the use of the website by you. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

Google Analytics cookies are stored based on Art. 6 (1) (f) DSGVO. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior to optimize both its website and its advertising.

IP anonymization

We have activated the IP anonymization feature on this website. Your IP address will be shortened by Google within the European Union or other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area prior to transmission to the United States. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address sent to a Google server in the US and shortened there. Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity, and to provide other services regarding website activity and Internet usage for the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with any other data held by Google.

Browser plugin

You can prevent these cookies being stored by selecting the appropriate settings in your browser. However, we wish to point out that doing so may mean you will not be able to enjoy the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent the data generated by cookies about your use of the website (incl. your IP address) from being passed to Google, and the processing of these data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.

Objecting to the collection of data

You can prevent the collection of your data by Google Analytics by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will be set to prevent your data from being collected on future visits to this site: Disable Google Analytics.

Outsourced data processing

We have entered into an agreement with Google for the outsourcing of our data processing and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.

Demographic data collection by Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics' demographic features. This allows reports to be generated containing statements about the age, gender, and interests of site visitors. This data comes from interest-based advertising from Google and third-party visitor data. This collected data cannot be attributed to any specific individual person. You can disable this feature at any time by adjusting the ads settings in your Google account or you can forbid the collection of your data by Google Analytics as described in the section "Refusal of data collection".

5. Plugins and Tools

The use of Facebook social plugins

Based on our legitimate interests (i.e. interest in the analysis, optimisation and economical operation of our online offer within the meaning of Art. 6, para. (1), letter (f) of the GDPR), we use social plugins ("plugins") by the social network facebook.com, which is operated by Facebook Ireland Ltd., 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland.
This may include content such as images, videos or texts and buttons that users can use to share content from this online offer within Facebook. The list and the appearance of Facebook social plugins can be viewed here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/.

Facebook is certified under the Privacy Shield agreement, thereby offering a guarantee of compliance with European data protection law (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt0000000GnywAAC&status=Active).

When users access a feature of this online offer that contains such a plugin, their device establishes a direct connection to the Facebook servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted by Facebook directly to the user's device to be integrated into the online offer. Pseudonymous usage profiles of users may be created from the processed data; therefore, we have no influence over the scope of the data which Facebook collects using this plugin and inform you based on our knowledge.

By including the plugin, Facebook receives the information that a user has accessed the corresponding page of the online offer. If you are logged in to Facebook, Facebook can assign the visit to your Facebook account. If you interact with the plugins, for example by clicking the “Like” button or writing a comment, the corresponding information is directly transmitted from your browser to Facebook to be stored there. If a user is not a member of Facebook, there is still the possibility that Facebook will gain knowledge of their IP address and store it. According to Facebook, only anonymised IP addresses are stored in Germany.

For the purpose and scope of data collection and further processing and use of data by Facebook, as well as the related rights and settings options to protect the privacy of users, please refer to Facebook's privacy policy: https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/.

If users are members of Facebook and do not want Facebook to collect data about their visit to our online offer and link it to their membership data stored on Facebook, they need to log out of Facebook before using our online offer and delete their cookies. Further settings and ways to revoke permission to use data for advertising purposes are available in the Facebook profile settings: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=ads or via the US page http://www.aboutads.info/choices/  or the EU page http://www.youronlinechoices.com/. The settings apply across platforms, i.e. they are applied to all devices, such as desktop computers or mobile devices.

Instagram

Within our online offer, functions and contents of the Instagram service, offered by Instagram Inc, 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA, 94025, US, can be integrated. This may include, for example, content such as images, videos or texts and buttons that users can use to share content from this online offer within Instagram. If the users are members of the Instagram platform, Instagram can assign the calling up of the above content and functions to the users' profiles there. Instagram privacy policy: http://instagram.com/about/legal/privacy/

Google Web Fonts

This site uses so-called web fonts, provided by Google, for the uniform representation of fonts. When you call up a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache to display texts and fonts correctly.

To do this, the browser you use must connect to Google's servers. As a result, Google learns that our website has been accessed via your IP address. The use of Google Web Fonts is in the interest of a consistent and attractive presentation of our online services. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6, para. (1) letter (f) GDPR.

If your browser does not support web fonts, a default font will be used by your computer.

More information about Google Web Fonts can be found at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google's Privacy Policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.

Integration of the Trusted Shops Trustbadge

To display our Trusted Shops seal of approval and any collected reviews as well as to offer the Trusted Shops products for buyers after placing an order, the Trusted Shops Trust Badge is included on this website.

This serves to safeguard our legitimate interests, which predominate in the context of a weighing up of interests, in the optimal marketing of our offer. The Trustbadge and the services advertised are an offer of Trusted Shops GmbH, Subbelrather Str. 15C, 50823 Cologne.

When the Trustbadge is called, the Web server automatically stores a so-called server log file, which can contain, for example, your IP address, date and time of the retrieval, transferred amount of data and the requesting provider (access data) and document the call. These access data will not be evaluated and automatically overwritten within seven days after the end of your page visit.

Further personal data are only transferred to Trusted Shops, as far as you decide after the conclusion of an order for the use of Trusted Shops products or have already registered for the use. In this case, the contractual agreement between you and Trusted Shops applies.

6. Payment service providers

PayPal

Our website accepts payments via PayPal. The provider of this service is PayPal (Europe) S.à.r.l & Cie, S.C.A. (22-24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg.

If you select payment via PayPal, the payment data you provide will be supplied to PayPal based on Art. 6 (1) (a) (Consent) and Art. 6 (1) (b) DSGVO (Processing for contract purposes). You have the option to revoke your consent at any time with future effect. It does not affect the processing of data previously collected.
